Craig Polite, PhD

Dr. Polite is a Psychologist/Psychoanalyst in full-time private practice in Manhattan, where he conducts Psychotherapy and Executive Coaching and Management Consulting. He is currently a Supervising Clinical Consultant at NYU and a Supervisor at the Westchester Center for the Study of Psychotherapy and Psychoanalysis (WCSPP).

He graduated from the NYU Postdoctoral Program in Psychotherapy and Psychoanalysis in 1983. He was an Assistant Professor of Psychology at the State University of New York at Stony Brook and has had numerous clinical professorships. Those include: Columbia University’s College of Physicians and Surgeons, the City University of New York, Yeshiva, and St. John’s Universities.

During a nine-year mid-career hiatus from clinical practice, he was a partner in a CPA/Consulting firm as well as an independent management consultant. Post 9/11, he worked with deeply affected police and fire agencies. Additionally, he’s been a radio personality, hosting a talk show entitled The Mind’s Eye, and has made numerous radio and television appearances.

He is married to Cheryl Bradford-Polite and is the father of three and the grandfather of four.
