Within her professional practice, she sees individuals, families, organizations, and communities; and she specializes in extended work with those who have suffered from crisis, disaster, and historical trauma-based adversities. Dr. Kliger earned her MA and PhD in Clinical Psychology, with a minor in Statistical Measurement and Design, from Wayne State University, and she completed psychoanalytic training at the Michigan Psychoanalytic Institute of the American Psychoanalytic Association.

With her psychanalytic and humanistic-oriented backgrounds, Dr. Kliger developed the powering the mind model of “self-study” and transformational growth. This model includes practice in deepening mindfulness through meditation and self-reflection. As a writer and artist, to address the complex needs of people who seek help, she has incorporated art-informed experiential activities into the model to complement her clinical and consultation practice.

Dr. Kliger also runs a podcast with her colleague, Lori Blumenstein-Bott, called We Are Human First. It can be found on Spotify and www.psychassets.com.
